Advanced knitting instructions Materials: Corticelli Knitola Fingering Yarn, 12 balls Myrtle. One pair no. 5 knitting needles. Other suitable colors are Tobacco Brown, Dark Brown. Navy.

Advanced knitting Instructions:

Left front: Cast on 59 sts. And k.12 rows in plain Garter stitch.

13th row: k. 4 sts. In plain Garter stitch, bind off 4 sts. K.4 more sts., then finish the rest of the row in p.1 and k.1.

14th row: k.1, p.1, until within 12 sts. Of end (which is always knit in plain Garter stitch – for the lap of front – only when you make buttonholes), k.4, cast on 4 sts., k.4 this finishes buttonhole.

15th row: k.12 sts. In plain Garter stitch, then k.1 and p.1 as before in these advanced knitting instructions.

Repeat the 15th row until work measures 17.5 inches from beginning (only make 5 more buttonholes 4 inches apart – about 32 rows), then decrease 1 st. at the armhole side of work for the next 10 rows and work again with no shaping until front measures 23 inches from beginning, then in the ribbing on the inside of the k.12, decrease 1 st. every 3d row until only 35 sts. Remain on the needle, or 14 sts. Have been narrowed off. Now knit 2 sts.

Together loosely all the way across and bind off all but the 12 sts. That are knit plain at the front; knit sufficient on these 12 sts. To reach around the center of neck at back and bind off.

Right front: Work exactly like the left, only omit buttonholes. Sew up under arm and on shouylders and the strip of 12 sts. On to back.

Advanced knitting instructions for Pocket: Set up 28 stitches and knit 5 ribs plain Garter stitch, then knit 1 and purl 1 for the remainder of the work. Pocket should measure 5.5 inches deep by 5 inches wide when finished on this advanced knitting instructions.

Advanced knitting instructions for Sleeves: Cast on 52 sts., k. 4.5 inches in plain Garter stitch.

In the next row increase 1 st. in every 4th st., making 65 sts. On the needle. Then commence the p.1 and k.1.

Next row: Increase 1 st. on 2d st. from beginning and next to last stitch at end of needle. K.6 rows in p.1 and k.1.

Next row: Increase 1 st. at each end as before.

Continue in this manner, increasing 1 st. at each end of needle every 7th row until there are 81 sts. On the needle, or 8 points of increasing. Then work with no increasings until the under-arm seam measures 19 inches without cuff and bind off.

In setting up front, be careful to set it up loose enough so that it won’t draw in.
