Baby crochet patterns: The solid center square of the pillow top, with the rose and leaf motif, is crocheted in white silk, and the open border and picot edge in pink yarn. French knots of the pink yarn form the center of the rose. The pillow itself is covered with pink silk, which shows effectively through the crocheted top.

The strip of pink satin ribbon across the upper edge ends in a rosette, with a tassel of either the silk or yarn at each corner.

The pillow cover is also handsome made entirely of silk, or it may be worked entirely in yarn or in Pearl Crochet Cotton, in the same colors.

Baby crochet patterns Materials: Corticelli Sweater Silk, 1 ball white, corticelli saxola 2-ply fingering yarn, 1 ball pink. One no.4 bone and one no.7 steel crochet hook.

If it is desired to work the center of the pillow top also in yarn, instead of silk, use saxola, white. If the work is to be done entirely in sweater silk, use pink for the border; if in princess pearl crochet cotton, white and baby pink.

It will require the same quantity of any of these materials.

Chain 6, join in ring. Make 4 shells in ring each of 1 s.c., 2 d.c., 1 s.c, join. Turn work around and ch. 5, fasten into ring of 6 ch. With s.c. between the first and second shells on the back, ch.5, fasten between the next two shells and repeat all around, making 4 chs. Of sts. Each, turn the work on right side.

Over each of these 4 chs. Make a shell of 1 s.c., 2 d.c., 2 t., 2 d.c, 1 s.c. On the back make 4 chains of 7 sts. Each and fasten between shells on back, same as first row of chains.

Over each ch. Of 7 make shell of 2 s.c., 2 d.c., 2 t., 2 d.c., 2 s.c. Make 4 chains of 8 sts. Each and fasten between each shell on back. Make 1 s.c. in each of the 8 ch. Sts. And 2 s.c. in each of the four corners all around this baby crochet patterns.

Next row: 1 s.c. in back half of each of the 8 s.c. on previous row, 1 d.c. in next st., ch. 2, 1 d.c. in next stitch (pulling p the loops pulled through the stitch quite long), then 1 s.c. in back half of th enext 8 s.c. with the 2 d.c. with ch. Next row: The same, only instead of having 1 d.c. to work around there will be 2 d.c., with the 3d d.c. over the chain of 2 as before, with chain of 2 and 1 d.c. in same stitch. There will always be two more until the length desired is reached, which will be 8 of these d.c.’s worked around d.c.’s.

When this is done on the next row at end of these roll stitches make s.c. over the last one and 1 s.c. over the first one on the next corner, which will make 10 s.c. between the groups of these roll stitches, with 2 s.c. over chain of 2 in each corner, and the next row make 4 s.c. in corner, each time, making 2 more s.c. in the corners and 2 less of the roll sts., the roll st. being left off at the outside edge. Continue in this manner until all the raised stitches are worked off, then work around in s.c., taking up the back half of stitch 6 more rows, increasing 2 extra sts. At each conrer, break thread.
