Beginner crochet project: This medallion, if worked in the size cotton specified, will measure about 2 1/8 inches in diameter.

Materials: Corticelli Mercerized Cordonnet, art.66, size 50. One no.10 steel crochet hook.

Beginner crochet Instructions:

1st row: 9 op.

2d row: 9 op.

Follow pattern from illustration Edge: (2 s.c. over 2 ch., 1 s.c. over d.c.) in 1st 6 meshes with p. over center of 5th mesh, ch. 10, turn, catch back over 3d d.c. of previous row, turn, (3 s.c., p., 8 s.c., p., 3 s..c ) over loop, fill remaining meshes with s.c., making 5 s.c. in corner mes. Work the remaining three sides in the same way of this beginner crochet pattern.
