Crochet Booties: Child’s Bed Socks

Crochet Booties: These socks measure 5 and a half inches in length.

Materials:

• Corticelli Shetland Flosola Yarn, 1 ball white no. 98.
• One no.5 crochet hook.

Instructions:

Chain 9 sts., 1 h.d.c, in each of the 7 ch. sts., making 1st st.in 2d ch. On 8th ch. st., make 2 h.d.c., work down other side of chain, making 7 h.d.c.

Work round and round, working the h.d.c in between the h.d.c of previous row instead of on top, putting 2 h.d.c between the 2 h.d.c of last row for increase at top of toe, 16 rows all together.

17th row: Work round, leaving 4 sts. On each side of the centre increase, ch. 2, turn. Work back and forth on the remaining sts. For 5 rows, chaining 2 for turn each time.

22nd row: Work 6 rows on the first 9 sts., join to other side of the work at end of the 5 rows, which ends the 21 st row with sl. St. down side and across bottom of heel.

TOP:

Make 3 rows of h.d.c around top; on 4th row make an edge of 3 ch. and 1 s.c. in each st. Make cord and run in the 2d row of sts. Finish cord with small balls.
