Easy Knitted Baby Hat Materials -

1 ounce of twofold zephyr.
Knit on small rubber needles.

Begin at crown. Cast 32 stitches; knit 7 needles twist stitch (which is done by knitting the back part of the stitch, instead of front as in ordinary knitting). 8th needle, seam, 9th plain, 10th seam, 11th knit 2, * wool over, knit 2 together, repeat from *; 12th seam, 13th plain, 14th seam.

Repeat these 14 needles 3 times, then break off wool.

Begin on right hand side: pick up 26 stitches, knit 32 on top of crown piece; pick up 26 stitches on other side (this forms the front of hood); knit same as crown, repeating the 14 needles 3 times, with the addition of 7 needles twist stitch, then bind off for this easy knitted baby hat pattern.

Pick up in the neck, for frill, 84 stitches; knit 1st plain, 2d, knit 2, * wool over, knit 2, repeat from *; 3d and 4th plain, 5th seam, then 7 needles twist stitch, bind off.

Crochet round front and frill 3 rows.

1st row - 6 treble in one stitch, double crochet in 4th stitch; this forms a scallop.

2nd row - 1 treble, 2 chain, 1 treble in centre of each scallop, 2 chain between.

3rd row - 6 treble in chain of preceding row, double crochet between.
