Embroidery Princes Stitch

To work, hold the thread down with the left thumb and make a small back stitch. Draw the needle through, still holding the loop in its place. This is the middle loop. Make another loop to the top and bottom, with a small back stitch each time. Fasten all with a firm stitch. This makes a group of three loose loops firmly secured by a cluster of back stitches. Proceed similarly for the next stitch.
