Embroidery - 8 Things to avoid

1. In threading the embroidery needle do not moisten the silk by putting it in the mouth; handle it as little as possible.
2. Cut the skein of silk through the knot, avoiding long strands, except in the scallop, where it is advisable to use a long thread. But have short strands to shade with.
3. Avoid taking the doubling it, for in this way each strand twists in a different direction.
4. When two strands are required, for embroidery thread the two strands at one time.
5. When the hands are moist from perspiration do not draw the silk through them.
6. See that you have a good needle, for embroidery so that the eye of the needle, so that the eye of the needle will not rough the silk.
7. Do not braid or plait the embroidery silk.
8. The kink made by doing so is detrimental of good results. Keep the strands smooth as possible.
