Princesss Maxixe Knitted Wrap or Shawl

 

Free Shawl Knitting Patterns Materials required: 5 balls Princess Pearl Crochet Cotton, Art. 453, size 3, color Pink no. 300, and 6 skeins white 8-fold Germantown wool. 1 pair large knitting needles, size 7.

Instructions for knitting

Note: Count across and back as one ridge. Cast on 70 stitches with the pink princess cottong and knit 25 ridges.

*Join on the white wool, do not break off cotton, and knit one ridge of the wool, thn one ridge of the cotton. * Repeat from *.. to * alternating one ridge of wool and one of cotton to measure one yard in length. This forms the center. Knit 25 ridges of the cotton to correspond with the first end. Bind off.

Gather up each end, and finish with a large heavey tassel to measure 5.5 or 6 inches in length when finished. It requires nearly or quite a full ball of the cotton to meake the two tassels.
