Knit Shoulder Scarf
Knit scarf patterns: The model is knit in white and the stripes at each end are in blue, pink, and orchid, with character lines of dark brown. Materials: Corticelli Shetland Flosola Yarn, 5 balls white, 1 ball blue, 1 ball pink, 1 ball orchid, 1 ball dark brown. One pair bone knitting needles. This design will also work up handsomely in Corticelli Sweater Silk or Princess Pearl Crochet Cotton. Instructions: With white cast on 100 stitches (or less for a narrow scarf), knit plain back and forth 15 ribs (30 rows). Cut wool, leaving about 4 inches each time colour is changed and fasten the ends with a large needle. Knit 1 rib Brown, 7 ribs Blue, 1 rib Brown, 9 ribs White, 1 rib Brown, 7 ribs Pink, 1 rib Brown, 9 ribs White, 1 rib Brown, 7 ribs Lavender, 1 rib Brown. This completes pattern at one end. Knit 102 ribs of White for center of scarf, then other end of scarf like the first end reversed. Tassels: Wind White wool around five-inch card 15 times. Make 25 tassels for each end of shawl, and fasten at equal intervals by drawing one end of tassel through edge of work and slipping other end through loop thus made. Draw taut and cut evenly.
