Knitted Socks
Knitted Socks: knit on four needles. Cast on 60 stitches, 20 on each of 3 needles; knit 2 rounds plain, 1 round seam, 1 round plain. 5th round - Put wool over, knit 2 together. 6th and 7th rounds - Plain. 8th round - Seam, then knit 8 rounds plain. 17th round - Seam. 18th round - Like fifth. 19th and 20th rounds - Plain. 21st round - Seam, then knit 3 rounds plain 25th round - Seam 26th round - Like 18th, then knit 2 rounds plain. 29th round - Seam, then knit 8 rounds plain. 38th and 39th rounds - Seam, then knit 2 rounds plain. 42d round - Like 26th, then knit 3 rounds plain. 46th and 47th rounds - Seam Divide: take half of stitches for heel (30). First needle plain, then knit 2 needles seam, for this knitted socks pattern, 2 needles plain, alternate, till there are 16 ribs (2 needles form a rib). On 13th rib narrow twice in centre of needle every other needle, and continue till 16 ribs are knit. Then fold and bind off, same as heel on stocking; pick up 18 stitches on side, knit off 2 stitches from front needle, knit 26 stitches, then knit the 2 left on to the next needle, on which pick up 18 stitches on other side of heel. Narrow at beginning of one needle, at end of next, till there are 15 stitches left on each needle. This makes the gore between the heel and front, and is to be done every other round of these knitted socks. After picking up stitches on both sides of heel, of this knitted socks pattern, knit 2 rounds seam. 3d round, 1st needle plain; 2d, put wool over, knit 2 together; 3d, plain. Next round plain. 2 rounds seam. 2 rounds plain. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, put wool over, knit two together; 3d, seam. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, plain; 3d, seam. 2 rounds plain, 2 rounds seam, 2 rounds plain. 2 rounds, 1st needle seam; 2d, plain; 3d, seam. 2 rounds plain, 2 rounds seam; 2 rounds plain. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, put wool over, knit two together; 3d, seam. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, plain; 3d, seam. 2 rounds plain, 2 rounds seam; 2 rounds plain. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, put wool over, knit two together; 3d, seam. Next round, 1st needle seam; 2d, plain; 3d, seam. The rest of sock is knit alternate, 2 rounds plain, 2 rounds seam, making 18 ribs. On first needle of 3d rib begin to narrow by knitting 6 stitches, narrow, repeat all round. Knit 6 rounds, then narrow, knitting 5 stitches between. Knit 6 rounds, then narrow, knitting 4 stitches between. Knit 6 rounds, then narrow, knitting 3 stitches between, then narrow 1 stitch on every needle till all are narrowed, knitting 1 round between narrowing on these knitted socks. Crochet small scallop on top, embroider small figire on the two wider plain stripes on leg, and one on top of foot. Finish with cord and tassels same color as silk used for crochet and embroidery on these knitted socks.
