Under 5 ch. Rp. Till 4 s. are filled. 7 ch. Dc. In last dc, made turn ch. 1. 11 dc, in ring turn ch. 3. for 1st t, of c. for 1st t. of c. Proceed as previous fan, making 5 c. with 5 ch. Between each. After making 5th c. 1. t. in center 1st fan turn fan, 4 dc. P. 3 dc. Under 5th ch. As before. 1. h. in dc. Above 2nd c. of 1st fans ch. 7. 1. dc. In t. turn 11 dc. In loop as before. 5 c with 5 ch. Between each t. in dc. Above 3rd c. of 1st fan.

Continue until band is desired size, join.

Top of cap is of lover’s knot catching between each small scallop and between each fan. Make about 14 rows. 15th row 1 dc. In single thread of each loop.

16th row 5 dc. In 5 dc. Ch. 2. join between small scallop of motif ch. 2. 5 dc. In next 5 dc. Join to motif, continue until all are joined. Motif ch. 9. 15 dc. In ring. Continue as in band, making 8 c. with 5 ch. Between as finishing with 4 dc. P. and 3 dc. As in fan.
