Patterns for knitted purses Materials - 1 skein blue and 1 black of purse twist.

These old fashioned long purses are still occassionally used; the following pattern is rather a small one.

Cast on 72.

Knit two together, make 1, knit 1. Repeat.

2d row - Plain. When broad enough double it and sew up, leaving about three inches open for the money to slip in. Finish off with steel rings and tassels.

Another purse - (pins no 17 or 18, and 1 ounce embroidery silk). Cast 144, and proceed as above; or make 1, knit 3, draw the first of the three over the other two.

2d row - Plain. Repeat.
