Vintage crochet patterns: For this pretty design for a round cushion select
“Princess” Pearl Crochet Cotton in a linen shade. This material
is quite heavy and fills in rapidly, and will launder without losing its color
or softness.
Materials required for two sides: “princess” Pearl Crochet cotton
art. 453, size 3; 5 balls of linen color no. 355; one steel crochet hook no.

Wind padding cord (p.c) 8 times aroudn two inches mesh, slip
off, join in cotton and cover ring with 32 s.c., sl. St. into first s.c. Next
round: make a d.c. in each s.c., taking only back loop of st. in first d.c.,
join 2 strands of p.c., 2 s.c. over p.c. in 2 d.c., then 12 s.c. over p.c. alone
for arch, then 2 s.c. over p.c. in 2 d.c. missing 2 d.c..
Continue this around, which will make 8 arches. Cut p.c. of this vintage crochet

Now commence the rings: Carry cotton up to middle of arch, 10 ch., turn; s.c.
in first ch., 1 ch., turn; 3 d.c. in 10 ch. Loop, then a picot of 4 ch., sl.
St. in first ch., 3 d.c., picot, 3 d.c., 10 ch., s.c. in first ch., 3 groups
of 3 d.c. with picot between groups. Make 3 more rings in same way, then a 6th
ring; into this make 6 groups of 3 d.c. with picot between each group, sl. St.
in 1 ch. At beginning of ring; go gown the sides of the uncovered half of the
rings finishing the same as the 6th ring, 3 ch., s.c. between arches, 3 ch.,
s.c. in middle of arch. Continue as for first row of rings until there is a

Join cotton between first and second picots of first ring, *8 ch., s.c. between
picots of next ring; repeat from * in third, fourth and fifth rings, 8 ch. And
s.c. between first and second, second and third, third and fourth picots of

4 ch., join between first and second picots of next row of rings. Continue the

in opposite loop, 8 ch., s.c., 4 ch., s.c. in 10 succeeding loops. Repeat from
* around the remaining points.
Join 2 strands of padding cord. At top loop of 8 ch. Make 6 s.c. over p.c.
and 8 ch. Loop, 6 s.c. over p.c. alone, 6 s.c. over p.c. and next 8 ch. Loop,
and so on until the 4 ch., make 3 s.c. over 4 ch. And p.c., then 3 s.c. over
p.c. alone, then 3 s.c. over next 4 ch. And p.c. Continue in the same way around
all the points of the center figure of this vintage crochet patterns.
Now baste the figure on to a piece of muslin and fill in the space between
the points with loops of 5 ch. When these are filled out to complete the circle,
continue round after round of these meshes until there are 15, or as many more
